Groundwater has different compositions depending on local conditions. It can contain all kinds of natural and non-natural substances, e.g. iron, magnesium, manganese, etc. This means that groundwater must be treated and purified before it can be discharged into surface water, sewage system or filtered into the soil.
Capacities
Our purification plants have a capacity of 75 to 150 m³/h. Several cleaning operations can be linked together, allowing a maximum capacity of 1,200 m³/h to be achieved.
The purifications are controlled fully automatically by a PLC system. The treated groundwater is sampled and analyzed during the cleaning process for quality monitoring.
Strohfilter
If the groundwater contains iron, a straw filter is used to lower the iron levels. The water is pumped through a tank filled with straw, our deferrization equipment, with or without pre-aeration. Oxidation causes the iron to flocculate and stick to the straw. If iron levels are high, the straw must be replaced regularly.
